Shine

My friend Tanisha has a seven-year-old daughter named Enjolie. When most kids play, their parents often ask them - "What are you doing?" Usually their answer is, "I don't know?" or "Nothing." Not with Enjolie. When Tanisha asks her that question, she simply responds, "I'm just letting my sparkle out mommy."

A year after Tanisha shared that with me, a co-worker asked if I had lost weight.

"I have," I answered.

"You look sparkly."

"Sparkly, huh?"

"Yeah, you have a sparkle in your eyes."

After some time and additional personal growth, it clicked.

The light within is your Spirit. It's always present. It never fades. When you don't hold parts of yourself back, you're transparent. Your ego fades and your Spirit dances.

Knock a brick down from your wall and risk being seen. Take a tip from Enjolie - Just let your sparkle out. We need that.
