Universal Family

I've relentlessly dissected the direction I've chosen to go in my life. How I've come to have the family I do and why I started my own, but how our last name will come to a close with me. After each exhaustive dig, my wrongs would catch the light and I'd be blinded by the refection of the past, inhale the abrasive bitter guilt and merge into its shadows of shame on the itchy exhale.
Whatever the goings-on may have been or looked like, the entire lot of it is all perfect to me right Now. Everybody is doing the best with what they have and where they're at.
86 judgment. Erase the question marks.
With each tick a new Now blazes, and I feel bonds tighten regardless of the unknown or unsaid. I find a gentle acceptance there. Share or no share, peace finds a home in us all.
Sometimes I feel that the space between is due to my lack of presence. But, just like with anything, it's my relationship with it that creates the story.
beyond the blood ties,
into the friendly eyes I see daily,
acknowledgement, appreciation and respect given with a peaceful nod, smile or wink,
the weaving of hearts is felt in the simple,
not categorized by race, gender or lifestyle choices,
or defined by any particular word,
no sectioning of souls,
we are all embraced,
we are all pure love,
we are all one weird family.
To My Universal Family,
I honor your glorious journey. You've been in my life. You were here, for me - with me. What more could be asked? I love ya deeply for who you are. Enjoy this magic carpet ride as you hang on loosely. I hip hop hooray you. Live well. It's a privilege.
Tearfully Yours,
Jimmy
